Handmade Birthday Invitations

I think that clever invitations set the mood for fun for a child’s party. I like to get an idea about what type of party is planned when the invitation arrives. I’ve been seeing more and more invitations printed at home on computers. I think that the handmade invitations are the best.

Two years ago, my son and I planned an elaborate party with a Harry Potter theme. I bought parchment paper from an online store and attached each piece to dowels. We used homemade invisible ink to write the invitations. I called the

mothers of the children we invited to tell them the instructions on revealing the message.

I put all of our invitations into tubes for mailing. I found a bunch of tubes marked down at my local office supply store. We had a great response to the invitations and a wonderful party.

My daughter wanted to have a tea party for her sixteenth birthday. She had been secretly planning this as her theme for about a year. She made her own handmade invitations using teacups she had been buying at yard sales over the course of the previous year. She put the teacup into a small specialty box that she decoupaged herself.

The handmade invitations to my daughter’s tea party were so creative. I’m not sure how she came up with this idea, but I was very proud. All of the girls that were invited to the tea party arrived in fancy dresses. I made a classic tea party menu with finger sandwiches and small desserts and pastries. Several of the girls told me that they would keep the handmade invitations forever.

My nephew is turning six this summer and my sister has asked me to plan and execute his party. I’ve been given a list of fifteen children that I am supposed to invite. I plan to make fun invitations for each of them.

I have planned a pool party with a barbeque for my nephew. The invitations will be made on balloons. I plan to inflate the balloons with helium and then write the party particulars on them. All of the kids we are inviting live within walking distance, so I think that we will deliver them ourselves. I think that the kids will like them a lot.

I’ve been sent very creative invitations over the years. I have been bowled over by the creativity that I’ve seen used for children’s parties. My daughter was sent a invitation that was attached to a cookie cutter for a cookie baking themed party.

The mother mixed up a batch of sugar cookie dough for the kids to cut out their favorite shapes and then decorate. My daughter declared this to be the best party she ever attended. I am still impressed with the invitations she came up with.
